The dumbest Healthcare argument

The argument detailed on the NewsBuster.org article: Stossel & Mackey Blame Govt for High Health Care Prices, People Die Waiting for Health Care in Canada is a perfect example of some statist puppet mouth piece spouting his programming without even analyzing his argument first.

‘chick little voice’ – 45,000 Americans die a year because they do not have health insurance

If he would stop and use the last brain cell he had, he might ask this question too…  How many Americans die a year who have health insurance?

I did a little cursory digging.  These numbers are probably just as suspect as the vaunted harvard 45k number, but it will give you an idea of the stupidity of this attempt at a scare-tear jerk tactic.

2,420,00 total deaths
-90,000 in hospital deaths (I guess they have insurance…)
-43,443 traffic deaths
-19,457 poison deaths
-18,048 at home deaths (next congress will be padding our homes)
-16,885 drunk driving deaths
-16,137 murders

You get the drift.  so… there is really no way to tell if any of these people had insurance, I don’t have access to that data and would find it suspect if I did, but following statist logic on this, only 45,000 people died last year from (no insurance) but 2,420,000 people died total in the US.  so that leaves us with (1..2..3…)  oh, 1,970,000 people who died in the US, and since Harvard only said 45,000 died due to lack of insurance, I guess these poor people died with insurance.

Their argument is that less people would die a year if everyone had insurance.  The numbers say if you die, you die, with or without insurance.  Insurance doesn’t save you from death, nor can Barack Obama.

oh and my favorite quote from that article above:

“…zero Canadians die from lack of health insurance. They die from other things, but not from lack of health insurance.”

LMAO
