A bill to allow 72hrs to review proposed legislation is stalled in the House. Check out this article for more information and please contact your State Representative if they have not signed the discharge petition.

This should be important to ANYONE, conservative or liberal. We ALL have the right to review legislation being passed by congress. Below is a copy of the letter I sent to my Rep., Jane Harman, who has yet to sign such commonsense resolution…
Dear Rep. Harman,
I am writing this brief email concerning H. Res. 554. I understand that you have not signed the discharge petition that would allow a vote on 554 and allow 72 hrs for members of congress, private citizens and the press to review house legislation before going to a vote.
I am dismayed at our governments current practices of bring legislation to the floor for votes without the opportunity to adequately research and understand the content of these bills and a STRONGLY urge you to sign the discharge petition referred to above, thus defending and upholding the American people’s right to be informed of laws passed in their name.
Thank you for your time.
